Ministry is hard. In fact, being a Christian is hard. That's not a new headline, however. As a Christian, I've had no shortage of trials. As a church planter, this truth is even more-so. I have to confess this Christmas season has been one of the hardest in recent memory. I have had moments when I have been unsure of my vision, unsure of those who are "with me", and unsure if I've had any impact. It is in times like this that I want to run and hide, throw my hands up in defeat, and go work for a church in Orlando (or some other saturated Christian market where this would be easier)....Keep Reading

What does ‘verbally inspired’ mean? Some confusion can exist because a common use of the word is to mean ‘oral’ (e.g. in a workplace you have verbal warning and a written warning). I can't help but wonder who the first Senior Pastor in history was. I think I would like to go back into history and pick his brain. What was it about God's plan for the church that didn't work for him? Were things not moving fast enough for him? Did he have weak Elders incapable of leading? Was he nervous that the church would not move in the direction he thought best? Or did the men appointed to lead simply relegate decisions to him anyways, so why not? ...Keep Reading
